Technology transfer and licensing

The Zepler Institute’s portfolio of science and technology spans several key enabling technology areas including photonics and nanotechnology, as well as more domain specific subjects such as communication technologies and medical diagnostics. As a result we have a significant portfolio of technologies available for licensing.

Many funding calls require us to demonstrate impact of our research and we are always happy to talk to companies that may have an interest in providing an exploitation pathway for Zepler Institute research and technology.

Knowledge transfer partnerships (KTPs) enable you to access and embed expertise from within the Zepler Institute to help you to solve important problems facing your business. Projects are delivered by a recently qualified person (known as an associate) from the institute, with support from an academic supervisor. KTPs can vary from 6 months to 3 years depending upon the needs of your business and your desired outcomes. For more details on KTPs please see
